Our new server is now ready for use and over the next few weeks we will be migrating most web sites onto the new beasty. With a massive increase in storage capacity, speed, and resiliency, the new machine will host many more sites and deliver even more features to our clients as it is Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008. Our old server is being renamed "littlebird" and will now only host large bespoke sites, our mail services, and backups of our databases.
We are delighted to announce that BIZDEX.CO.UK is now being rolled out nationally with the full support of Busybird. Over the coming months we will be expanding the directory into new areas to ensure that clients across the UK benefit from a presence in the directory. The business will continue to be owned by Gavin but we are putting a new platform in place, supporting the systems with our own network infrastructure and code, and providing enhanced support and business expertise to help him to grow his brand. More details will follow.
We have just completed our first week of Authorised Reseller Training and are really please that this nerve wracking experience went well! Of course, we will continue to support our Authorised Resellers with training, support, and advice to ensure that our customers receive the highest levels of customer service. Well done to our franchisees and thanks to all the staff at H.Q for helping to make it a focussed and pleasant experience for the Resellers.
Massive thanks to GY's Catering for the stellar quality of the buffets they supplied; it's the healhiest lunches I've had for a long time and our Resellers really enjoyed the range of food supplied.
Our new Help Desk has gone live and will be the basis of all of our customer and reseller facing support efforts. The help desk is powered by ZenDesk (a market leader in support software) and is hosted outside of our main network ensuring 100% uptime even in the event of a catastrophic failure at our main Network Operations Centre!
You can access the help desk in a number of ways:
1. Point your browser at www.busybirdhelpdesk.co.uk and submit a ticket OR
2. Send a question to support@busybird.co.uk and our systems will route your enquiry to the help desk which will then create a ticket for you and route it to the most appropriate member of our team.
We are rolling out live chat and help forums (particularly on www.mywebcontrolpanel.co.uk) and we'll update the blog as we create new gateways into the Help Desk. We will also be populating more knowledge base articles and attempting to answer the most Frequently Asked Questions about all aspects of our business (including franchising) and the more questions we are asked the faster this will build.

Our training and meeting room is being decorated next week! If you are a client and need a quiet space for a meeting please let us know. The service if free of charge (provided it's not already booked!) and we can arrange catering if needed. We will be using this space for Authorised Reseller Training and Staff Development but it seems a shame to have it empty when we know some of our clients could use somewhere to meet their clients. We are just off the A1 (5 mins from the Angel Of The North) so please contact us if you need a space to work for a while. We provide WIFI access to our network and our experts are also on hand to advise on presentation tools if needed. The meeting room will be available from the first week in February.
